Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! Though this year’s celebrations may be quite different from any other year, I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving, as it marks the beginning of the holiday season, and I also love the reflective nature of this time of year.
This week’s unit will be a shorter with just 3 days of activities, so that we can family time together on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
And don’t worry, next week’s unit is Giving so we will have plenty more activities on a similar theme.
If you haven’t seen already, we made a thankful tree last week, and I think it’s been a great way for us to look forward to Thanksgiving and be more intentional about being thankful this week.
Thanksgiving Activities For Preschoolers
Day 1: Hole Punch Turkey
I found this activity on Happy Toddler Playtime and had to try it out!
The activity combines fine motor skills and is also great counting practice. So I’m looking forward to it!
My son enjoyed this activity so much, we decided to do this activity again, but this time with paper clips. It was his first time using paper clips, but he actually got the hang of it pretty quick!
Day 2: Alphabet Practice Letter J
This week, we will be learning the letter J! As usual, I have a free dot worksheet and a writing worksheet that will be included in the weekly lesson plan download.
We will definitely be listening to this song throughout the week 🙂
After getting familiar with the letter J, I plan on doing this fun Thanksgiving themed color by letter activity that I found on 123 Homeschool 4 Me. It’s free to download as well!
Day 3: Thanksgiving Hats
My boys love hats! They wear their firefighter hats and even birthday hats randomly. So I know they’re going to be super excited about these 🙂
I found these cute and simple Thanksgiving Hats at Preschool Play & Learn. They’re free to download, so head on over to download it!
Here’s how ours turned out:

I have a dedicated post on our favorite Thanksgiving books! We will be reading books from the list this week. You can see the list here.

This is a great list of activities. We love all those books in our house! My daughter loves the Turkey Trouble book!
Thanks for reading, Diana! My son loves that book as well! We’ve read it so many times already 🙂
I love the thanksgiving hats and that memory verse is beautiful!
These are great books for Pre-schoolers.
We love many of the same books – The Thankful Book by Todd Parr is especially great for preschoolers!
